The postpartum period is a beautiful time, and also really overwhelming. You are recovering from birth as well as moving though immense physical and emotional changes, all while caring for a newborn.
As a Nurse Practitioner, I want you to have consistent, quality support for both you and your new baby. My fourth trimester support packages focus on the whole family. Learn more below.
The U.S. has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed countries (see here). 1 in 5 U.S. pregnant or postpartum birthing parents will experience mental health complications (see here), more than half of maternal deaths occur during the postpartum period (see here), and about 50% of non-birthing parents will experience postpartum anxiety (PPA) or depression (PPD) (see here). Evidence shows various hormonal changes that occurs in the birthing and non-birthing parents during the prenatal and postpartum periods, which can impact one’s mental health.
The postpartum period can range between 12-18 months after a child’s birth. The gap in postpartum care is evident and it is my mission to ensure every parent feels cared for, listened to, and supported in their postpartum journey! As a Nurse Practitioner, I want you to feel educated on what to expect during the postpartum period for, know when to seek immediate help, and learn how to care for yourself and support your family in your journey.
This package includes care for the birthing and non-birthing parent. We will discuss overall postpartum recovery which includes mental health, sleep, nutrition, exercise, and any additional concerns you have.

Giving birth is no small feat and you will/have done it beautifully! Whether it was a cesarean or vaginal delivery, at home, at a birthing center, or in the hospital, you have brought life into the world! Be exceptionally proud of yourself for creating and birthing a human being!
Your body changes and adapts throughout your pregnancy, and that journey will continue into the postpartum period. You are producing milk for your baby, and your body is adapting to no longer being pregnant. You are undergoing huge hormonal shifts which have a big impact on your body and your emotions.
